Does a hot shower really dry out your skin?
EcoProbiotic
Yes, especially together with foam. In one study, skin kept in water at about 41 degrees for 10 minutes lost more than twice as much water. In another study, plain water didn't change water loss whether lukewarm or hot; when a harsh foaming agent was used at 40 degrees, water loss rose noticeably. So when water and foam come together, the effect grows.
